2010 Keynote Address:
Why Port Orford Matters
Bob Bailey
Coastal Management Program Director
Department of Land Conservation and Development
Despite its small size and remote location, the community of Port Orford, led by the Port Orford Ocean Resource Team, has had an enormous influence on the way that Oregon's coastal communities think about their relationship with the ocean. POORT has demonstrated that fishermen who are sincere about the long term sustainability of their industry can be leaders nationwide in ensuring that our oceans continue to be healthy and productive.
